The BR Standard Class 7MT "Britannia" 4-6-2 was a mixed traffic locomotive designed by Robert Riddles for British Railways. 55 were built at Crewe works between 1951 and 1954.

Members of the class were allocated to depots in all regions. They were used primarily on passenger workings.

Withdrawals begun in 1965, but 70013 "Oliver Cromwell" continued working until the end of mainline steam on BR in 1968. Two locomotives (70000 and 70013) have survived into preservation.
